here is my experience - filed for me and my wife for EB2:
PD February 3, 2016
PERM was complete in May 2016
I140,I485 filed on 07/28/2016 to Nebraska
FingerPrint: 08/08/2016
EAD/AP: 09/22/2016
Case was transferred to Texas center on 11/14/2016
I140 approved 02/28/2017
In July 2017 paralegal from attorneys office tried to create a request on why the case was taking so long but didnt get anything as they said that paralegals are not authorized in this case
In August received RFE due to medical form expiry and then August 10 they received the new form and continued
After 60 days on 10/11/2017 called the USCIS to create a request about the case being out of processing time and today on 11/07/2017 the request was assigned to the officer for the response
Not sure what is going on with the EAD cards extension we contacted attorney to file for new ones in July 07, 2017, i got mine in September 2017, my wife still didn't get it, she created a request on why it is taking so long, on Nov 2 they replied that it is in line with the Nebraska center processing time, back then it was showing that center is working with the June 2017 cases, today website shows that they are processing cases received on Sept 15 2017, letter also says contact USCIS after 60 days from Nov 2
What could be a possible reason for delay in I485? Please note we are from Russia not sure if it is affected due to political relations between countries
Thank you for all the support. I am finally greened.

July 2016 EB2 Applicant Approved, the status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced"
Very happy to announce, my status to "permanent residency" was successfully approved. Learnt a lot from this forum, thanks for every single of you for sharing your own experiences. I was patient enough, my plans got changed (some of them screwed) because of waiting, waiting and waiting, but at the end its worth it. I have no doubt everyone waiting, will hear the good news soon, just hang in there, good things come to those who wait.
here is my timeline:
- 07/19/2016: "We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485"
- 01/20/2017: RFE on tax forms 2014, 2015, 2016 and additional documents attending the university in California (tuition recipe, photos from the graduation, etc.).
- 02/16/2017: "We received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485,"
- 09/06/2017: "Your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, was transferred to another USCIS office."
- 10/04/2017: "We scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice."
My PD date: July 17, 2016.
The interview was pretty fast (10-15 min), straightforward, was asked few questions like "when did I arrive at USA, what school did I attend, and the address of the school I went, that's about it." The main thing during the interview was, to provide your paystub, letter from the employer that you work there, also you have to make sure you have all the documents that show you were never out of status during your time in the US. Right after School, I did 3 years OPT at different companies, so I brought the letter from this company to prove I was never out of my status.
So, after few questions, and making sure all my documents are properly submitted, the officer congratulated me, and said my green card should be arriving in 2-3 weeks.
Please asks if you have any questions regarding my case, I'd like to help with what I can. good luck to everyone.
I did SR and the repply I got is that my case is currently not assigned to any officer. Please what does that mean? This is 4 Months now we had our interview is above 120 days and is still saying not assigned to any officer yet. On the 17th 9f August they came to our house too. Please my people what do you think could be the cause of this. God save your people. Thanks
It seems that interview is now mandatory for status change application, even for employment based applications. Wondering if anyone on this forum can share interview experience for I 485 application! It would be of great help to all. Thanks
It seems that there hasn't been any progress in the processing times (still saying EAD June 1st), but I read that someone who filed in July already received the EAD. Would anyone who submitted their case in June, July, or August 2017 like to share their timeline?
Spoke to a level 2 officer Nov/03/2017 to change my address and she mentioned that the 90-day timeframe is no longer applicable. She said her system showed they were currently processing EAD cards from June 1st, but this information could change tomorrow. She suggested I kept checking because the updates may show that they are already working on July or even August cases. I would love to know if anyone who filed in July already received an EAD card.
Thank you in advance for sharing! Your input is appreciated.
