Student Visa (F1, F2, M1, M2)

I am the host for a Japanese student and wanted to warn other students about what happened to this student.

She transfered from MCC (Mesa Community College) to NAU (National American University in Rapid City, South Dakota)and was assured by the staff at National American University that they would take care of all the transfer work necessary of her I-20 from MCC. The staff did not know what they were doing and never completed the transfer, but told her everything was fine. She paid them $4,000 tuition and went there for one quarter but now they tell her she can not continue because her visa is out of status as they never properly completed the I-20 transfer.

Now they say it is not their responsability to do the transfer even though they said they had taken care of everything and she believed them. They aren't helping her and she had to leave the country and is now trying to reapply to finish her education.

She had previously transfered from a Northridge California school to ASU (Arizona State University) with no problems, then from ASU to MCC with no problems, but when transfering from MCC to National American University, the staff dropped the ball.

Be careful and become very involved with your process so you don't get surprised like this student did. Especially if you are attending smaller private "for profit" schools. Even if the staff at your college assures you everything is fine, verify that indeed everything is in place. The sad truth is that even though this student was wronged by the staff at National American University, immigration just follows it's strict rules and doesn't really care why the student went out of status.

I got my F2 visa on 17th march 2009.

Things i learned from my interview-
1)they have all the record of ur any previous interview if rejected before.
2)be true to them in whatever u say try to avoid saying lie.
3)first 30 seconds of interview most imp be confident .
4)don't loose ur confidence if the VO is showing rude attitute.
5)Be ready to ask him if anycase ur visa gets rejected the reason for same. don't show getting the visa is the last thing u want in ur life be prepared if u don't get it then what next
6)be presentable confident and truthfull.

i was issued M1 visa on dec 2007 i left my training incomplete and came back to india in aug to complete few formalities. Most of my friends did the same. well now when i went bck to renew i got tht same blue slip pending status under 221g. my interview did not even last for 3 mins.. any idea when should i expect a call from them. i did not find any similar case for M1 visa

I am on H1b and currently working and planing to go out of USA for vacations. But i heard that now at port of entry people are facing problems so what you suggest and is this a rumor or did anyone out of you had this kind of issue?

I was on B1/B2 multiple entry visitor visa.. 4 days before it expires i applied for student visa F1. now it has been more than 90 days and still have no result. An employer will be filing for H1B this april...by june or july I will be asked by USCIS to show an approved student visa..then also the H1b will be approved..
but what it F1 will not be appoved ..H1b will be denied right?
 but waht if by the time of july or june that USCIS asked for document of student visa and it is still pending(meaning no result yet..because it might take up to september 2,2009 to be approved accdg. to the website)..then will I be approved for H1b or not?? pls help!!!

My visa has been suspended under 221 (g). They gave me a pink form and asked me send my CV to them.
