Student Visa (F1, F2, M1, M2)

I would like to share my husband's F2 visa experiene this year in chennai embassy.

I graduated this dec and my OPT starts from 01.15.09.My husband has been to chennai in Nov 3rd week but his visa was put on hold bcoz we did not show income on OPT.(job after i graduate). It was put on hold desite showing sufficient funds from my husbands bank accunt. They wanted me to have suffiecient money for both of us.

I got a offer letter from a company and my husband went to Chenna last week(Jan 5th) and the only document thy checked is my offer letter from the company and finally he got the visa:-)

I just want to let u know that just be confident n try to provide all the required docs if ur on OPT like:
1. offer letter if ur graduating soon.(U will be on F1 if ur in OPT)
2. Husband's work exp letter (showing 2-3months of leave from the company will be gud)
3. Marriage certificate
Marriage pics
4. Suffiecient funds from ur father or husband
5. I20 from ur univ(make sure ur fee waiver n on campus job details are update).

My husband got his F1 on dec 1 2008 and i applied for B2 visa on 10th Dec2008.We both went for the interview .The visa officer asked questions from my husband.he asked him why both of u din't apply for visa together.My husband said she dosn't plan to stay there for long so that's why applying for tourist visa.He said why din't apply together.i told him my leaves were not sanctioned by that time.then he hasked my husband duration of his coursei.e 4 yrs.Consulate said u both plan to stay seprete for 4yrs.My husband said yes as she has her career also.But consulate din't seem convinced.It got rejected.If any details reqd mail me.

I have a question, I am an aupair in the US and am here on a J1 visa. I would like to stay here and finish my studies, but I am not sure if I can apply for a student Visa. I want to work and study ,what Visa , would be the best for me.? and how do I go aout applying for one? And how long does it take to get one.

I'm from Guatemala and I'm a F-1 student in US, right now Im in my 60 day grace period but I had some problems with my last school because I misunderstood the last day of classes I got back to the school the last week but I had missed a whole week before.

I wanna travel to Chicago on Holidays before I leave the country but I need to know if I can travel to Chicago because I dont know if I got immigration problems in my last school.

I'd appreciate your help.

I went to Nogales,Mexico to renew my F1 student visa and things really went well. My appointement was on August 14th 2008.
   When you go to Mexico, make sure you have all your school documents and you have been in good status. When I got back to Nogales border,I was supposed to renew my 1-94 and before they renewed my 1-94 they asked for my 1-20's of my previous schools, because I have transferred to two schools. I did not know that if you transfer to another school, your supposed to hand over your 1-20 to the INS. Good thing, I had all my 1-20s of all the schools I have been to.
    Nogales has very nice immigration officers. Just try it out. And guess what, my student visa had expired for about 2 years. Make sure you get a Mexican visa, before you go out of the country.
