Rejected extension does not void multiple entry visitor visa
Hi

This is to bring to your notice that the information posted on this website regarding the expiry of the visitor visa after being rejection of extension is false. My in-laws visited us in 2004 and applied for extension, they left 10 days after receiving the denial letter from USCIS. Both of them have a ten year multiple entry visitor visa. We were in a dilemma whether
to have them reappear for visa, because it might have been voided during there last visit. We called the USCIS and they said they do not have the authority to do it. We did take the risk, and they visited us again in 2007 and were granted 6 months of stay and were not questioned at all.
The bottom line is THE VISA DOES NOT GET VOID.

Hope this helps to people in a similar situation.
Please post any questions you have in the same thread and I am answer you.

One day delay
You have to leave the US on or before the expiry date in your I-94. Even if you delay one day the visa becomes automatically cancelled and you have to re-apply again at the consulate. SInce you were present one day unlawfully the visa request will be rejected!!!

Could anyone please reply to my query here? My brother is a green card holder in the US(only becos he cud not get a good job here!!). My sis and her hubby are on an assignment to the US(co. they work for sent them). I work in India (luckily!!), never realized what a mess this whole exercise is. My mom has been staying with me or at her house in AP. She has been to the US on a visiting visa once. She is retired and has property that needs looking after in AP. But how do you go about convincing these guys that the US is not necessarily everyone's dream, that my mom only wants to see her brand new grandchildren? I mean why on earth would anyone assume that somebody desperately wants to be called an American????

Extension is Possible
Just follow the rules to a T. Do not add to them or subtract from them. The Extension process is easy if done according to the law of USA. The procedure advocated by Immihelp are a great resource. I and my wife got an extension.

J-1 VISA GRAND SUCCESS- JUNE,2007
HI FRIEND TODAY I AM SHARING MY EXPERIENCE IN THIS SITE AS I WAS ALSO LOOKING FOR AN REAL HELP ( INFO ) IN MY EARLY STAGES WHERE THIS IS WAS THE SITE WHICH WAS MY PLATFORM OF CONFIDENCE. I AM REALLY THANKFUL TO Mr. JAY AS HE IS THE ONE TO PUT A RAY OF HOPE TOWARDS MY PATH OF SUCCESS. ANY WAY HERE IS MY EXP:

# THIS WAS MY 4TH VISA INTERVIEW.

# FIRST THREE WERE OF F-1 (M.B.A.) IN CHENNAI AS I BASICALLY BELONG TO HYDERABAD ( ANDHRA PRADESH ).

# THIS TIME IT WAS AT DELHI (LUCKY) AS I AM DOING MY M.B.A. FROM IIPM, NEW DELHI.

# AS I WAS PLANNING FOR MY SUMMER INTERNSHIP IN U.S.A. WHICH IS A PROGRAM OF AROUND 2 MONTHS.

# THEN ACQUIRED MY DS-2019 FORM FROM WWW.AIPT.ORG ON THE ADVICE OF Mr.JAY WHICH IS COMPLUSORY FOR APPLYING FOR J-1 VISA.

# IN THE CONSULATE THERE WERE NO MUCH QUESTIONS BUT THE FEW THAT THEY ASKED WERE PRETTY TOUGH AS THEY WERE REFLECTING MY FAILURES IN THE PAST AT THE CHENNAI CONSULATE.

# 1. WHY USA
  2. WHY CANT INDIA
  3. JOB ROLES/SPECIFICATIONS
  4. COMPANY DETAILS
  5. WHAT MAKES ME FEEL THAT THIS TIME I WILL COME BACK.
  6. REASONS FOR MY PREVIOUS FAILURES AT CHENNAI CONSULATE.

ONE THING I CAN SAY FRIEND THAT MY PERFORMANCE WAS THE SAME FROM THE FIRST TO THE LAST VISA INTERVIEW (SAME CONFIDENCE, SAME PRESENTATION OF MYSELF) BUT THE THING THAT WE REQUIRE IS THE LUCK... THIS IS WAT IT COUNTS AT U.S.A. CONSULATE INTERVIEWS.

I BELIEVE THAT:

TRY & TRY TILL U DIE...

GOODLUCK TO YOU.
