NYC based Citizenship applicant: Timeline update
Hey guys, just an update if this helps (I've posted previously)

My wife and I filed August 10th 2017, with FPs a couple of weeks later. I had to quickly resubmit my form because I was using an old version.

Anyway, my wife's interview was 24th April, and she had her oath ceremony 1st June (it was terrific).
My own interview was 24th May, and I've just been placed in line for an oath ceremony (I'm guessing around 29th June based on my wife's turnaround).

There you have it, around 10 months from start to finish for NYC N-400 applicants (Brits). Good luck to all !

Do we need to answer all options for an open ended question in the interview?
I am reading the civic questions and some questions are easy and one sentence and some have multiple options...

Q: What is the rule of law?
A: 1. Everyone must follow the law
     2. Leaders must obey the law
     3. Government must obey the law
     4. No one is above the law

Suppose the above question is asked by IO then should I tell one or all four options?

Background check pending for over a year!
Hello everyone,
I would like to share my experience with you and hopefully you can advice what else I can do.
My local office is Providence, RI. My PD is 05/26/2017, 06/07/2017 Fingerprints appointment was scheduled, FP on 06/20/2017. Since then my case has been pending background check clearance!
I sent 3 service inquiries regarding the delay, all came back with the same answer: "Background check is pending. Cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of those security checks".
I contacted my senator office who keeps inquiring USCIS every 30 days and I get the same usual answer every time.
I did 3 info passes, and at one of those visits the IO told me straightforward that my case is taking longer than usual because I was born in Syria, I'm a male, and I'm young!
I really don't know what else I can do. This wait seems endless and this journey is becoming a nightmare and so frustrating.
Any advice from people who had the same issue like mine? or what else I could do?
I really appreciate your help! - Thank you

NYC/arrest filers
Hey guys just want to share my experience so far
PD: 8/24/2017
Finger print: Portchester 09/17/2017
In line for interview: 09/25/2017
Interview scheduled notice: 12/18/2017 Federal Plaza 01/24/2018
Day of the interview I was nervous as hell because I was about 5mins late trying to find parking in the city. However, when I finally went through security and reached upstairs I was the first name to be called; the interviewer was a really nice lady who had no clue how to use her computer because it was new. After she swore me in she took a picture of me and have me do fingerprints, the interview was extremely easy if you study, I downloaded the questions on my app with the answers so easy btw. Anyway, these were Questions asked on Citizenship Interview
1. Name of the American Anthem
2. Name of the Ocean on the west
3. How old you have to be to vote
4. 13 strips on the flag means
5. What is the law of the land
6. What major even happen on September 11
Congrats you pass.
My case will be different from your average applicant because I had an arrest about 4yrs earlier. I brought everything from the courts even though they dismissed my case but you have to be truthful on everything.
After the interview the interviewer told me she can’t make a decision due to the fact that she needs a sign off from her supervisor but I’ll get a notice online once everything’s done. I got a form which say decision cannot be made. I was worried to be honest. But by the time I got home my case status changed online to case recommended for approved.
On 02/08/2018 oath ceremony inline for scheduling. I waited until May 24 to schedule an infopass because I felt like I was past the 90days mark. Received an infopass appointment for June 5th, which was pointless because it seemed like no help all the rep did was read the same info that’s available online and that’s all. However, today June 6th I received an update that oath is scheduled and mailed. So I’m excited finally coming to the end of my journey. Waited 10 long months, now just waiting for the notice in the mail.

Any recent interview experiences with San Francisco Office?
I am bit happy and also bit nervous(interview prep etc) that my online status changed to Interview Scheduled. I have *not* yet received the interview letter.

My Details: Employment Based Green card / NO issues (Arrests etc) / Applied after 5 years of green Card

My Application Date is: 08/11/2017 (BTW, applied using Paper based as online was N/A at that time)

Date of online status changed for interview scheduled: 06/05/2018

Almost 10 months wait...

I am requesting anyone who recently attended N-400 interview at San Francisco office? Kindly share your experiences.

PS: My spouse's application date is same as mine and did NOT status update yet. That is wierd as we sent both our applications in the same cover.
