My wife PIO card issued after Janunary 9 so I wrote them. They told me to give the scanned copy of my her PIO. I gave. Them they sent my email to concerned person puuting me in CC. Fats process because. They responded to my two email with in one hour and they always pick phone and reply to you.

I told them that please clearify on the matter.

Please call them and write to them.

This is what they have in the Bureau of Immigration website... The language is different from that they have on the Indian Consulates and CKGS. So I am thinking that the PIO cards issued after Jan 9th are valid as they are existing PIO cards.... Note the Gazette has a second page that sent instructions to the Consulates and other places on Jan 16th....

If there is anyone who had a PIO issued after Jan 9th, 2015 and has visited India - Please post your experience....

Person Of Indian Origin (PIO)

1. As per the Gazette of India (Part-I, Section-I) published on 09.01.2015, all the existing Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card holder registered as such under new PIO Card scheme 2002, shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India Cardholder.
 2. Again as per the Gazette of India (Part-I, Section-I) published on 30.09.2014, a PIO card issued to an applicant shall be valid for his lifetime, provided such applicant has a valid Passport.

I applied for my daughter's PIO at SF through CKGS on 1/06/2015. Just got an update from CKGS that the

application will be returned without PIO.

My travel date is on 2/20 - have 10 days left. Is Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVoA) a good option? Please let me

know if anyone had any experience with TVoA?

My kids PIO application was submitted to the embassy on 08-Jan -2015. I was hoping that I will be receiving PIO card.
Yesterday my kids PIO application packet was returned without any PIO.

Actually they have issued PIO on 13-Jan-2015 and cancelled later.

They have given explanation with the gazette notification, but many of them have received PIO whose application was approved on 14th & 15th.

Is there any way where we can escalate about this to anyone to get back the assigned PIO or I should keep quiet and go for OCI.

This information not yet reflected in 'Track my application' page of CKGS.
I'm not getting PIO. I have the ticket for 2/11. now I have to apply Visa on arrival for my child. I'm rushing for my sis marriage.

My childs PIO submitted on 2/7. No update yet.

As Rawraw and other friends here mentioned, I too was expecting it early this week.

Anyone received PIO from SFO in the last 2 days?

Did anyone received PIO updates from SFO today, Pls post. My Minor's application is pending with them from Jan 13, NO updates yet.
Have to travel Feb 24. They are leaving with no option to even apply for a Tourist Visa.

We have submitted 3 pio apllications 2 for minors and one for adult on Jan 11th and reached consulate on Jan 14th and we got one minor application returned without PIO today. Waiting for another 2 applications. Need to apply for 6 months visa now as we are traveling to India on March 1st.
