EAD (WorkPermit)

Aug filers, I got RFE last Friday. I cannot tell if it's good news or bad.

Filed I130, I485, I131, I765 at same time. Received date 08/16/17. NBC.

Called customer services many times. Raised two service requests, 2 expedite requests. Contacted Congressman and Ombudsman. I tried everything I can.

After 6 months on Feb 16 my I485 case changed from "case received" to "request for initial evidence was mailed".

It turns out that they need more evidence about my husband, the petitioner's financial condition. But we met the criteria listed on the website when we submitted the application.

My lawyer heard it's not even the officer who requested for further evidence. USCIS hired some contractors to do this. Their job is to find the weakness of your case and give you a hard time. So it's like if you don't have enough money, you can't get your EAD and you don't get to work, and maybe your marriage fails because of this, and finally you will get the hell out of America. I guess that's what they think.

We are gathering the evidences of our assets. Hopefully I can get my EAD soon.

My PD is Sep 25, service center is NBC.
I have been waiting for my EAD for almost 5 months until I raised an
Expedite request last week.
I got an update yesterday saying that my new card was being produced.
I logged in today and the status was changed to “case was reopen for reconsideration”.
I called them because I was freaking out that it got denied.
The tier two officer told me that on his system it still showed that the card was being printed
and that I should just wait.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Could it just be a clerical error or should I be worried?

How are you feeling August filers ???

Any idea what we did to NBC ???

I contacted USCIS today because my case is now 90 days to raise SR, The guy that picked did not help, he said its still within process time, I asked to speak with a L2 officer but did not transfer the call and was repeating the same within process time thing, he was so cold but i was calm throughout the call, he did not raise any SR for me saying i have to wait for 30 days since I raised one on the 75th day. I do not know what next to do. I am really getting frustrated.

After 101 days of waiting, status is changed to "Name was updated", I never applied for change of name.
I only requested for employment authorization. Status change is not typical "New card being produced"
Does this mean I am getting an RFE or it is USCIS mistake? Anybody got into similar situation?

Please help me, I am freaking out.

Aug 16th 2017 - Case Received
Sept 13th 2017- Biometrics done

January 12th 2018 - My lawyer put in a sr (no response)
Feb 13th - Contacted Usics spoke with a lvl 2 officer and he put in another sr for me
Feb 14th - Emailed ombudsman asking for help

they emailed me back in like 3 days saying that they contacted uscis about my case

Feb 22nd - New Card Is Being Produced

I'm so happy man, thank you all for sharing your experiences and I read alot about people contacting ombudsman so I did it too. So I think they really helped me out. How long will my card take to get here?

As of today the status still shows Case Was Received.......

Hello everyone, I wanted to share with all of you my updates. After 97 days of processing time and distracting my mind by going to the gym everyday, my EAD has been finally approved.

11/16/17 - Case was Received
2/5/18 - First SR
* 2/20/18 - Received response from SR: "Your case is currently under review by an officer"
* 2/21/18 - New card is being produced

I was about to call my congressman but then I received the response to the SR and that gave me some hope, now I can sleep in peace. I wish the best of luck to you all and that you can also receive your EAD on time!

Hello, just wanted to post an update about my wife's EAD. It was a long wait and reading this forum helped reassure us that the extra time was normal.

PD October 24th, adjusting from K1 fiancee visa. Processed at the NBC. Today the status updated to "New Card Is Being Produced". 120 days between PD and approval.
We opened an SR online about a month ago and never heard back.

Hopefully the card comes soon. Hang in there, everyone.

Please if your EAD is based on VAWA C31 or C14 please share how long you've been waiting and what center.

Initial or renewal

Apart from service requests,did you go through the Congressman,Senator or Ombudsman?
