H1B, H4 Visa

Hi Guys..

I had my interview on Oct 16th in Hyd Consulate for H1B and the VO have asked basic questions and told that it needs some backend processing at the end. They didn't issue any slips or 221g. Below were the questions asked in the interview:

Petitioner Name?

End-Client Name?

Location of the Client?

Salary as per LCA?

How long I have been working for the client?

How long I have been working with the employer?

Highest level of Education?

University in USA?

Majors?

Below are the timelines for the Approval:

Case Created: 16 Oct
Case Last Updated: 17, 18th Oct (Administrative Processing)
Case Updated: 22nd October (Visa is issued)

I gave my Visa Interview on oct-16, interviewer asked basic questions like salary, client, location. Then she said that my visa needs to undergo Administrative processing otherwise i am all good to go. I was tensed .

Status got updated as Issued on Oct 22

15 July 2019 - Landed in India.

17 July 2019- Dropped off our docs at the New Delhi consulate.

24 July 2019 - Received passports back asking to come for the interview.

25 July 2019 - Went for Interview. VO asked to submit some docs via email even though we had a copy of all of it. Our case was under Admin Processing all along.

26 September 2019 - Our case date updated.

1 October 2019 - We received an email asking to submit tax return documents for the last 3 years. These were sent the same day. We did not receive any update after that.

17 October 2019 - Our last case updated date changed. Still waiting for the visa. When will this wait end? So frustrating.

Hi all,

Interviewer asked basic questions like higher education, client, project about, location and confirmed that your H1 is approved and will need some additional process which will take 5 days.

My interview was on Oct 15th.
Did not receive any slips.
Any guess how many days will take the process?
Client gave me holidays only till Oct 26th.
Please help me about estimation time.

Hi Everyone

My H1B and my dependent's H4 extension is in progress right now. It was filed sometime in beginning of July by my company. I got the receipt notice for my application. In between me and my wife had to move to Canada on July 13th for job purpose. So I didn't received receipt notice for H4 application since we already left the country by that time. What I came to know for H4 application to proceed further dependent need to go through biometrics. In this case it didn't happened since I am outside USA and didn't received the receipt notice as well. Not very sure if there will be any implications for H4 visa later if we need to move back to USA at some point of time. Thanks in advance .

I work in EVC model. My recent project got terminated in October 2019 and I would like to go India for stamping in November 2019.Client might hire me back next year, but I am not sure at this point. Has anyone gone for stamping when the project is over and got successfully done?

My interview was on September 20th in Chennai, interviewer asked basic questions.
Taken the client letter and gave blue slip.
October 4th client as got verification mail.After that no updates on status or I didn't receive any mail.
How do they communicate if there is an update on my case? Is it through mail or phone? This is my first H1b Interview

Had my H1B interview at Hyd consulate on October 18, 2019

F1 -> CPT -> Pre-OPT -> OPT -> STEM OPT -> H1B COS on October 1st

Basic questions from a very friendly VO, he did not ask for any docs at all.

Oh xyz company. Where in abc State do you live ?
How long have you been working for them?
What's your salary?
Have you ever been out of status ? (to which i replied No)
Are you sure? (Yes, I am)
Okay, I don't think you were, we're going to have to manually change something. It might take an extra day or two. Everything else looks good ! Thanks.

FYI - I haven't submitted the final evaluation on my I-983, which i recently realized i should've done, so i'll be doing that soon. Could that be a reason ? I spoke to another person, who also is in the same situation but he does not have to submit his I-983 since he was not on his STEM OPT, so im kinda thinking it is a data issue.

Has anyone had a similar situation be resolved in a day or two before ? My flight back is early next week and I won't make it if my VO doesn't come through on his 1-2 day timeline.

I gave my interview on 11th October. Standard questions and VO said your visa is approved and you will get it within a week. A week later I got an email saying document ready for pickup but CEAC still shows Admin processing. I picked up the passport today and along with it was the blue slip with a tick on "Police certificate to be submitted along with passport"

Please let me know if anyone else has gone through this.

when my turn came up, VO just took my passport and nothing else..

Questions Asked..

- Which company do you work ?
- Are you direct employee ?
- What is your annual salary ?
- Which university have you done your masters ?

and than he was talking about winter in our state which is pretty bad.

I was hopping for those golden sentence, but this is what VO said..

I am trying to approve your application but for some reason its not allowing me. I need couple of days to crosscheck few things. And than he gave me white slip - 221g and it does not have any check boxes.

i was checking the status online and below are the updates:

Case Last Updated: 15-Oct-2019 (Admin Processing)

18th Oct i got my passport delivered
