things to be taken care of..
Hi all,

after attending u.s visa interview i find that these things are very very important in getting a visa..

1. talk to your employer and make sure that you had a valid project and client to work for. INHOUSE PROJECTs ARE DANGEROUS.

here mostly mistake is of u.s employers by not providing suitable doc's.

2. all your ds156 and 157 forms are very very valuable means all your history will be in them. so don't change when you visit second time or take care while filling them.

3. don't try to see what's happening arround, be confident and mind your business. if you concentrate on what's happening arround you cannot attend the interview freely.

4. plan your crucial 5 min presentation by noting the probable questions in this forum.

5. don't let the hr manager in your u.s office to spoil your career, talk to him and get what you want rather than sending 221(g) to him. he will be having lots of vacations in the world but make sure you have all valid docs to get a visa.

6.don't argue with VO, give the doc or ans which he wants, don't be too smart. be honest.

7. afterall getting visa is not only source in life to live, be patient. do your work(arranging of docs and other stuff) throughly.

all the best..

Successful H1 stamping @ chennai
Hi All,
First of all thanks for all who posted their experiences. It was really helpful.

Here is mine.
I reached the US Consulate around 12:00 PM as my interview was at 12:45 PM. I found a huge line standing outside and later came to know that the schedules are lagging behind and at that time 11:00 o' clock people are going inside.
It took 2 hours to reach the gate of the consulate.By the time I reached infront of the VO counter, it was 5:00 clock. My turn came around 5:30. Since I didnot have proper lunch, I was half dead by that time.

It was a very comfortable interview.
It went like this.

Me: Hi Sir, How are you doing.
VO: ok..good.

VO: What is your highest degree?
ME: BTech

VO: Can I see your marks card.
Me: Sure Sir.

I showed the final marks card.
VO: Can I see the entire marks cards.

I shoed him the entire set of marks cards of all semesters.

VO: Can I have the credential verification on the university?
I handed over the same.

Then he glanced over the project details, that I had already given him.
Then he returned all documents back except the passport, DS-156 & ds-157.

VO: In case you face anyproblem on non-payment from the employer, this form tells on how to lodge a complaint.
He handed over a form to me.

VO: Your visa is approved. Please pay the fees at counter #1
Me: Thank you very much Sir, Have a nice day.

Here are some of the points u could take care of.
1. Take a room near to consulate only. Crytal Residency is a good one though the rate is a bit high. But it is a lot convenient.
2. Book your train/flight ticket accordingly, taking in to account the delay that may happen. In my case, 12:50 interview happened at 5:30.
