Business Visa - B1

This is the first time I am applying for B1 Visa and I never travelled to USA or any other country. As others I do had lots of questions and many told many things, when I visited this site I saw people experience and started analysing why few of them VISA is getting rejected.

As per my analysis I found that: If your stay in current company is less than a year, or your annual salary is low, or your stay of duration at USA you mentioned as more than 2 weeks or at the time of interview if your providing reason which is general like I am going for project purpose, I want to go there for project discussion etc, because there are can be done through online, so interviewer might not satisfy.

So I come up with a solution that instead of saying I am going for my project plan or road map, I thought to say We developed so and so application and is running in standalone server and now it requires cloud migration, so client my presence to analysis and discuss about how to make migration which won't affect already existed users etc.

I have prepared and went for interview and here is the way it goes:

* Reached 30 min's before to the location as the crowd was less, they sent inside even 30 min's before, after general checking, finally standing in queue where another 20 to 30 are standing for their turn and there are 6 interviews and you can able to listen what they are asking to each candidate. Many gets tensioned with the questions by listing and few gets VISA approved and few gets rejected. So here don't take anything into your mind, just be calm as every one case is different and you be with your preparation what you made earlier. After the queue gets my turn I have sent to one of the interview and the interview is lady:

VO: Please come sir.
I: Very Good Afternoon, with smile I said.
VO: Very Good Afternoon with smile
VO: Can I have your passport?
I: Handed over the passport
VO: What is your designation?
I: ZZZ
VO: How long your working in this company?
I: ZZZ
VO: YYYY Years
VO: What your company does?
I: Explained what our company does
VO: Why you want to travel to US?
I: I provided my answer as I was prepared like cloud migration etc.
VO: Before I complete, she told okay, but I completed what I want to say, it looks she was impressed.
VO: Which part of US, your travelling?
I: ZZZ
VO: What is your annual salary?
I: XX Lakhs
VO: XX Lakhs, your visa got approved. Have a wonderful time.
I: Thank you.

After completing the interview and I was checking in VISA status website, there it shows Administration process, later date it got changed to Issued, and next day got a message that I can go and pick up my VISA in the said location.

I collected my VISA and I got VISA for 10 years with multiple entry.

So, be confident and positive for sure you will get it. All the best.
