Denied Visa to wife
Had applied for a B2 visa for my wife at Mumbai. She wanted to go to US on tour a visit friends for a duration of one month. We thought that since I will be in India, my wife has a good reason to come back to India and hence were very confident for the visa. Her interview questions were as follows-
VO-Good morning mam
Wife-Good Morning
VO-Why do intend to go to USA?
Wife-For tourism purpose and sightseeing
VO-Do you know anyone in US?
Wife-I have a friend there
Vo-What does he do there?
Wife-He is working in an IT firm
Vo-Are you married?
Wife-Yes
VO-What does your husband do?
Wife-He is a businessman
Vo-What business?
Wife-Answered
Vo-His annual income?
Wife-Answered
Vo-Are u travelling alone?
Wife-Yes
VO-DO u have children?
Wife-No
VO-Have you been abroad before?
Wife-No
VO- Sorry Mam, you can't travel this time.Reason will be mentioned in the letter.
The letter was a 214B. I guess the reason was that husband being in India could not be a strong point for the applicant to return to India.Probably that is why she asked her if we had children. Also another reason being that she has never been to any foreign land and going alone to US could not be safe and secure. I guess we should be applying together because I have been to foreign countries hence the chances might just improve.
