EAD Renewal Nightmare (also I485 problem)
Ok here’s my timeline to give you guys some context.
1) So my dad filed for I485 in 2006 for the family.
2) every year since then, we have been on EAD
3) we waited from 2006-2018 and (only) my dad got his I485 approved and now has his green card.
4) my mom, sister and me are still on work permits (even tho our lawyer filed for everyone in the family)
5) We are still waiting for them to send us word to get our medical exam.
Ok so here’s what I’m dealing with currently.
- I filed for my moms work permit renewal around August of 2019 which uscis received in the beginning of September 2019 (her EAD expired in December 2019). SHE STILL HASN'T RECEIVED HER WORK PERMIT! Uscis is still saying there reviewing the case for renewal. And now it’s time for me and sister to submit paperwork to renew our EAD....
I’m honestly going crazy. My lawyer isn’t doing anything and just keeps telling us to wait (for our green cards). Is this normal? Even tho my dad who is the head of the family has gotten his green card.
Regarding EAD renewals, since 2010 I’ve been filing it myself without a problem. But the past 2 times I renewed it, USCIS has been taking its time and not telling us anything. Is it normal for my mom to not receive her new EAD? They havnt requested anything from us and they keep telling us they are reviewing it and can’t do anything about it.
