E/L Spouses no longer need EADs
As of 12th November 2021 L and E Spouses won't be required to have EAD authorization. There's some additional hoops to jump through when filing an i94 but thats the big takeaway.

Initially then you'll need to show an expired EAD, a valid i94 and evidence of a timely filed renewal receipt. That will provide a 180 day extension.

In the meantime CBP are implementing a revised i94 for spouses which will differentiate between spouse and other dependent entries. Once that's implemented then this alone will be sufficient evidence for employment.
