I just want to give up...
I send my warmest congratulations to everyone who got approved. But at the same time reading all these positive experiences causes me pain. I am USC and petitioned my husband (filled all those forms like I130, I485 and so on). We have been married for over 5 years. Here is my story.
PD Date is August 2019. I don’t remember when was biometrics. But we waited till February 2020 to receive update that interview was scheduled for end of March 2020. Then it was canceled because of Covid. You can imagine our frustration when interview gets canceled 2 weeks before when we already waited so long.
In December 2020 our interview was rescheduled for end of January 2021. Chicago office. And here is the most interesting part. We came on time, brought all kinds of proofs (bills, taxes, insurances, memberships, photos even phone logs for past 5 years). First of all, we were separated and interviewed separately from very beginning which was super weird, they said it’s because Covid but I am not buying it.
But despite that, interview went well, I have nothing to hide or lie about, we had our lawyer with us, he was present both with me and my husband. He said that everything was great, answers matched, all supporting documents were in order and in sufficient amount.
BUT, we were given white paper that case needs to be reviewed!!!!!! The IO said to my husband she need to “finish checks” I don’t know what it means. We all were surprised: me, husband and lawyer.
Guys we are not newly married, we have been married for over 5 years! And we proved it. Why do I have to wait more?! Why my marriage is being questioned? What is wrong with my marriage and case?
It’s been over a week since interview , USCIS haven’t even bothered to update case status from “interview was scheduled”.
The wait is draining, it’s been since August 2019!!!!!!!! I go mad, I can’t sleep, I can’t think of anything else, I don’t understand why we are treated this way. Everyday I want to crush my car from the bridge from this feeling of unfairness that is eating me from inside.
Contacted USCIS to get them at least to update status to reflect that we had our interview, no result they said I have to wait another 4 month to inquire. I don’t know how much longer I can live with this, I developed major depression. My husband is even more depressed, at this point he is thinking of abandoning everything and go to home country with or without me.
Any suggestions welcome.
