Multiple Phone Calls from USCIS Officer
Hi Fam,

My post is very long but I hope that you’ll take time to read it and maybe get insights on it.

This week (from Tuesday-Thursday), one of the officers who visited our house kept on calling me through my cellphone with a caller ID of “US Govt”.

I want to get your thoughts on this as I feel that I am being harassed in a way.

Tuesday:
-Officer called me at 12:30 (I was at work so I had to tell him that I need to go on the parking lot to talk to him) and asked 3 questions:
     - when was the last time you saw your husband?
     - what is your husband’s number?
     - how many tattoos he have?
     - what is the meaning of this specific tattoo?
He said goodbye and after 2 minutes, he started calling again while I was crossing the street. I told him can I cross the street? Then the officer told me, I have few more questions let me know when you are ready:
     - why did you chose your husband?
     - when/where did you meet?
     - where does he work?
     - how do you feel about your husband?
Then he said goodbye again.

-He then called my husband and asked the following:
     - when is your wife’s birthday?
     - why did you chose your wife?
     - where do you work?
     - officer asked my husband to send his ID through TEXT.

At home, our Landlord advised that someone called him while at work and the caller ID was US Govt so hence this was the officer too. My landlord was not able to pick up as he said that he had a patient to attend to..

Wednesday:
- Officer called me at 10:30am in the morning and told me to remind my husband to send his ID. He also told me that he need to speak to my Landlord. I told him that I will pass the messages.
- At home, our Landlord told us that the officer spoke to him and asked about our activities at home. He also asked our landlord to send him check copies of our rental payment. Our other room mate advised that he was called also and asked about us.
- At 9:00pm, my husband and I decided to send a text to the officer and check if he received his ID as the officer has 2 numbers.

Thursday:
At 7:20 am, the officer replied that he received it. I replied thank you and at 8:00am, he started calling me again at work and ask the following:
     - when was the last time you saw your husband?
     - can I get your mother in law’s number?
     - please tell your husband to call me.

I gave all information and my husband called the officer. My husband and I find this very inconvenient already as we are both at work and we are getting affected. He is calling us at working hours and asking the same questions which we have provided already during the home visit. I understand we are under investigation but for 3 consecutive days? I think he needs to be organized.

My husband spoke to the officer and told the officer that its not okay and if he can call us on our breaks.

The officer spoke to my mother in law as well and he called her twice.

I sent a text to the officer around 8+ am that if he needs to speak to me, I am no longer available as I need to work. He can reach me on lunch time.

Fam, I know that they are investigating us but I think this is somehow harrassing us. My boss at work even told me that its not okay that Im rushing out of the door to take personal calls (I know once is fair, but this officer calls me everyday!).

I am thinking that if he calls us the next time, We will tell him that we have been complying and if he needs more info, then maybe just call us both for 2nd interview and we will have a lawyer present as well. I just think that this is too much…..
