Passport renewal in Houston taking a long time

I submitted my passport (expires within the next 1 year) for renewal at the Houston consulate through CKGS on February 12th. It has been under review at the consulate since February 14th (31 days). CKGS has not been helpful at giving me any information on why it is taking so long. Has anyone else renewed their passport through the Houston consulate recently, and has it taken long? Any help would be appreciated!
