I was at my green card interview on march 2nd, 2021.
It was a stoke-styled interview that lasted about an hour for me. We pretty much got our answers right we have live together for over a year so that was the easy part.
Then the IO picked an issue with my divorce from my previous marriage amd used that as a basis to invalidate my current marriage.
Apparently, Nigerian dicorce decrees are all "***" to USCIS. I was denied a week after and given 33 days to file a motion or leave the country.
Right now I am confused on what to do. Got in touch with a Nigerian lawyer who supposedly should be adept at laws from both sides but NO! He ended up confusing me more.
He asked me to file a motion to reopen and keep fighting but he does not seem to know how long that could take. That waiting time is not something I want to deal with again. Besides, he is not sure we can win.
Please people especually my Nigerian brothers and Sisters, kindly assist with how you resolved this problem if you have such experience.
Contacts of competent attorneys will be appreciated.
I have less than 20 days to do something. Please help.
