Rediff.... very indian
I believe rediff is pretty much like any Govt. "babu" infested organization.
Browsing through other complaints/ responses, i realize that the nature of issues, has pretty much been blatant disregard for the customer or customer service.

I'm sure some reservation quota moron (no offence to deserving people though) would be heading the customer service dept. How else would anyone explain the rediff shopping portal design which lacks an imperative feature, a contact number.

My wife ordered a rakhi and some sweets for her brother, yesterday (Jul 26, 2008).
After entering the billing details (addressed in Mumbai), i entered the shipping details (addressed in Goa) and the peppy rakhi message to her brother from my wife.

Guess what, the shipping was, and i quote, "SAME AS BILLING ADDRESS"... as in mumbai :) and obviously no message.

By the way, i've done enough online shopping and am aware of "Is the shipping address different than billing address... if yes... plz enter the shipping address below"... Daaaaaah

I desperately started hunting for a contact number and everytime i got navigated to the customer support page where all we can do is send a message and then wait for miracles to happen.

Anyways i attempted to follow their instructions which mentioned that if there is a request withing 24 hours, the order can be cancelled. So i mailed them, i got an automated reply mentioning that they'll get back to me.

Reminds me of those numerous interviews, as a fresher, where the interviewer would politely "GET BACK TO ME" :))

Anyways, i got a mail this morning mentioning that the order has been processed and would be shipped in couple of days..... and u got it.. .at the Mumbai address... i mean "from" where i wanted to send...not "to" where i wanted to send.
My wife is all pissed at me... and all of a sudden i've been demoted from an internet savvy , online shopper... to.. ya .. u guessed it right... a BOZO.

What a bucket load of crap Rediff is.. believe me.. this was my first attempt at this site... and for heaven's sake.. the LAST ONE.

An honest opinion to end with. It doesn't pinch so much losing money.. it's the feelings that get quashed because of these quacks....

REDIFF SUCKS.... big big time.....
