Renewing Malaysian Passport with Expired F-1 Visa but Valid I-20
Hello everyone!

I am reaching out here to see if anyone have had any experience renewing their Malaysian passport in the United States (preferably through mail, since I cannot afford travel expenses from California to New York at the moment) with an expired F-1 visa, but a valid I-20. Since I am still in school and the F-1 visa is only required to enter the country, I am legally in the US and can support this claim with my valid I-20 document. Upon reading what is required to renew my Malaysian passport, it says I need a copy of a valid US visa. Would a copy of my I-20 suffice to prove my legal status in the US for the Malaysian passport renewal? Also, any help regarding the Malaysian passport renewal process by mail is warranted too since it would be my first time doing it in the US. Thank you so much in advance!
