Timeline: Tatkal passport service in New York via VFS global.
I applied for a Tatkal service. It seems like it's such a WASTE of money as VFS Global is very UN-ORGANIZED. Here's my timeline.
1) 12/28 -Fedex courier has been reached
2)12/29- Got email from VFS that package has been received and check the status after 48-72 hours
3) 01/05- I've been trying to track, but the VFS tracking system is not working.
4) 01/06 - 01/08 - I reached out to VFS so many times but it's useless because they'll keep sending templated reply that someone will reach out to you shortly which ofcourse NO ONE ever does. Also, if you call them, they'll charge you $2.50 per minute (first 5 minutes free) but it's also useless because they don't have any information. They'll also look at the system and will try to find the updates so you are pretty much wasting the time.
5) 01/11 -After so much frustration, I reached out to New York consulate today. I'm hoping that they'll be better (as per google reviews) but let's SEE.
I have to fly to Mexico this week so I applied for Tatkal service and paid $150 extra but it's a fraud service.
I'll keep on posting the updates.
