My parents visitor visa was approved in their second attempt on April 22nd, 2005. we don't know for how long the visa is granted.
The interview was for about 10 minutes.Lot of questions were asked but My parents could remember only a part of them.
What do you do?
Farm.
How much yield will you get?
what do you grow?
what is your total income for a year?
Then there was some casual conversation about the farm and then the questions were about my brother(who also stays here) even though it was my husband who is the sponsor. No questions were asked about my husband.
How many years has your son been in US?
In what visa did he go?
Where did he study?
where is he working?
and finally they asked
why do you want for 5 months?
My dad had explained that some places like white house has a 3 months wait period to visit.

My father said initially when the passport and application were scrutinized by the lady she had written the previously rejected date on the cover(PR date). They also said the whole experience was better than the first and he explained his ties back in India confidently even before they could ask him.
The questions that were asked when they visited the first time are
what do you do?
who is sponsoring the trip?
How many children do you have?
Does your son have a green card?
Has he applied for permanenet residence?
Not every method works for everyone, but don't lose hope if you get rejected the first time.
The discussions and the posts in immihelp were of great help to us. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Anitha
