The push to ~8.5 to 30 months looks like it was recent and affected most location. USCIS says that the far end (30 months) is when 93% of cases are complete. I think this also coincides with when you can initiate a case inquiry. In light of the COVID shutdown and pending furloughs, my guess is that this time frame has been pushed back to give USCIS some lead time. I have seen on this and other threads that priority dates of ~ September / October 2018 have been approved prior to the March COVID shutdown.

Thank you! It's interesting you said September/October 2018 cases have already been approved when the current Receipt Date For A Case Inquiry is January 11, 2018.

There's a disconnect but it is definitely an encouraging insight, isn't it? Meaning they're already working on cases beyond Sept/Oct 2018.

Hi Everyone! Glad to see a thread dedicated to Seattle filers! Here's my case:

Marriage-based AOS (from B2)
*July 1, 2019 - Marriage to my USC husband
*Sept 30, 2019 - Priority Date and Receipt Date (I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765)
*Nov 25, 2019 - I-485 case is "ready to be scheduled for interview"
*Jan 20, 2020 - EAD combo card arrived in mail

It stops there. We're still waiting to get an interview schedule. Happy to have the EAD work/travel card (which I have to renew soon) but my heart dropped upon seeing the new processing time for AoS cases in Seattle - 8.5 to 30 months (2.5 years)

Current "receipt date for a case inquiry" has regressed to Jan 10, 2018. Correct me if I'm wrong but does this mean they're stuck on Jan 2018 applications right now?

1. The whole process took an exact 17 months
2. I went to the interview with my wife , our 6 month baby boy , and the lawyer
3. The interview was smooth. The officer was nice and very kind
4. She asked me the Yes/No questions. She also went through the application and asked about our names, age , address, and etc. Very Straightforward.
5. After the interview, she took couple pictures from us, a copy of our son birth certificate, and my medical exam
6. She handed us a paper and said we should expect a decision after the interview as this is the new procedure and protocol
7. We brought to the interview the following documents: I have organized all documents in a big folder and divided them into seven sections

Section A: Proof of Petitioner

Original + Copy of Birth Certificate Original + Copy of US Passport and Social Security Card Original + Copy of WA Driver Licence Taxes 2015 and 2016

Section B: Proof of Beneficiary

1. Please be honest, patient and organized.
2. I recommend to download two apps to track your case status: 1) Case Tracker 2) Lawfully
3. You can log in to USCIS and add your phone number and email to get notified when your case gets updated
4. People at the USCIS are awesome and helpful. Don’t be frustrated and worried if your case gets delayed. They just have so many cases. When your case gets assigned, they will process it as soon as they can.

This is one of the happiest moments of our life. My wife was crying when our case got approved. I tried my best here to share my timeline and experience and I hope that someone out there who is still waiting for his/her case to get approved to find an answer within these lines and be certain that there is always a light at the end of a tunnel.
