Stormlead86 thanks mate I appreciate it. patientlywaiting2019 sure, sorry I’ve been busy.
Hello to All Fellow July 2019 Filers.
I had my interview on Nov 6th 10:45am at M***aukee field office.
We arrived there 15 mins prior and discussed all the possible questions on our way down to the field office. (50 mile drive and shitty weather made it worse but we used the time to go over everything again.)
Anyways i am just trying my best to give out as much info as i could to make things easier for you all.
After clearing the initial security check on the 1st floor, we were asked to go onto the 2nd floor and check in.
The lady at the checkin window was very professional, she captured both index finger prints and clicked a picture and asked us to be seated wait for our name to be called.
Around 11:05 our Immigration Officer came out and greeted us and escorted us to his cabin. Once in he made us swore in and started the interview.
Honestly speaking in my opinion it was more of a conversation and was no where near a marriage green card interview. IO was very friendly.
He just checked our passports and ids and didn’t ask for any other documents.
1.He Asked us how we met to which i asked him if its okay if i answer to it and he was like go on, I don’t mind who answers. So I explained how we met online and dated for 15 months and then got engaged and decided to tie the knot after being engaged for almost a year.
2.He asked me what was my initial purpose of visiting States.
3.If i plan to take my wife to my home country and have a ceremony there.?
4.He asked my wife if she has any plan to convert into my religion
5.He saw that I mentioned about working without work permit and asked me if i made a **** social or any other **** documents in order to secure a job.
6.Asked me if my traffic violations were paid off or dismissed.
He then went on and asked me about 10 of the i485 yes/no questions.
He did not asked for any other documents we piled up for post filing documentation.
He then asked us if we have any questions for him to which i said yes and asked him if we’re approved or if our case need more time for review. He said our marriage looks bonafide to him but he needs a week to review the case again and we can expect to get my card delivered in next 3-4 weeks.
After this he walked us out and shook our hands before biding us farewell.
My wife and I could barely believe that our interview went so smooth and was very excited on way back home until I realised that io never asked for my medical and we forgot to hand it over to him. So we turned around and barely made in time. I couldn’t get a hold of the same io as he was busy. He asked the lady at the checkin window to take it over and he will collect it from her later on.
My case status didn’t change on both the websites.
Also i have attached some screenshots of possible interview questions which you all can go through.
At last there are few tips i would like to share.

- Its always good to be over prepared than under.
- Be confident and try to make eye contact and mind your pleases and thank yous.
- For all those who haven’t filed yet. Do yourself a favour and front load all the initial documents and supporting evidence. It makes them less suspicious and proves your marriage to be bonafide.
- Do as many mock interviews you could cuz it will help you to be less nervous and helps you memorise important dates and addresses.
- Be truthful even if you have worked under the table/ on cash. Or have been involved in traffic violations. ( don’t forget to get certified court records. They costs as less as $10).
- Take as many group pictures you could.
