  • Received email from National Visa Center. Please help!

    Hi there!
I got married in 2017. My wife is green card holder. My i130 approved on 12/12/2019. I submitted my i485-i765-i131 on 12/15/2019. The received day is 12/20/2019. Biometric taken on 01/24/2020. I don’t know for some reasons I received this email from NVC today. This email also come with my case number. When I log in into that, the status shows that I have to pay $325 for me and $120 for my wife. It looks like they will schedule an interview in my country. I thought I already inside the US so I don’t need to come back home. Can somebody explain this process for me please. Is that normal?

You need to call NVC and tell them its an AOS and you're in the US so they would transfer your file to USCIS.
    it's a normal procedure so don't worry

They are true and fix but for people that are outside the USA. You must call/email or whatever needed for NVC to return your case to USCIS and continue the process in the USA and not by doing Consular Processing.

Sorry, I didn't see that you were not the OP. If you are doing Consular Processing then yes, that needs to be paid. There are more payments down the road (medical, actual GC when you travel with your immigrant visa, and maybe more).
