  • Did USCIS let me skip conditioned green card?

So I just got my green card last Wednesday (2/5) (thanks USCIS, finally!) but the expiration date on it is 2030. To my understanding, they'd give you a 2 year green card first then 10 year. Obviously Im super happy but I just wanna make sure it's not an error that needs to be reported to uscis.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? My only theory is we got married in 2017 and it's been more than 2 years so they let me skip the conditioned green card, not sure though.

You get a 10 year card if you’ve been married for more than two years at the time your application gets approved

Sometimes they make mistakes. If they approved the GC after your 2 years wedding anniversary then it is ok to receive a 10 years GC. Congrats.

If you want, you can start the naturalization process in 3 years - 90 days.

Thank you! It looks like it was because of the timeline then. Our 2 year anniversary was in October and my gc got accepted in January. It's a shame that the wait to talk with a uscis agent is always too long or I'd give them a call to confirm

You don't need to call them, here is the information you want:
            https://www.uscis.govhttps://www.immihelp.com/greencard-decoding-characters/after-green-card-granted/conditional-permanent-residence/remove-conditions-permanent-residence-based-marriage
Your permanent residence status is conditional if it is based on a marriage that was less than 2 years old on the day you were given permanent residence.

In your case: marriage for more than 2 years = regular 10 years GC.
