  • Are greencard holders eligible for PUA / Pandemic Unemployment Assistance?

    Hi,

So I am aware that greencard holders are eligible for Unemployment Insurance and this won’t count as a public benefit.

But what about Pandemic Unemployment Assistance? Does that fall under the UI umbrella and won’t be counted as a public benefit? Or is it a public benefit?

My state has offered me PUA but I want to make sure first that it does not count as a public benefit before I take any actions.

You already have a green card. Why are you worried about public charge? Answer to the question is Yes. Its is part of unemployment insurance - not public charge

The Public charge ground of inadmissibility only applies when someone is petitioning to become a legal permanent resident. Since you already are, this shouldn't be a problem.
