Hello,
My wife has a hopefully still valid green card. We left the US in 10/99 and obtained a re-entry permit. We went to Japan to help out her parent in a time of crisis, it was to be a short term stay, in the time that we were there my wife became pregnant so the stay lasted a little longer than expected. We have been back to the US twice since 99 and less than one years time passed between trips back. Each time we went back in they stamped the re-entry permit instead of her passport. Now we are ready to go back for good but here re-entry visa expired in November of last year. I asked at the consular and he told me "you should be ok" since it's been a less than a year since you've been gone the second time. We have mainted all of our bank accounts, and 401k and what not and even renewed our driver's licenses last time we were there. I am a US citizen and so if my daughter.
Now I was wondering what can I expect when I go back to the US in April.
Thanks,
Chris
