  • How should I travel with my Green Card?

    Hello!

First, thank you for your time in reading this post.

I am a Permanent Resident of the United States since March 2005 and am planning to visit India for 6 weeks. This is the first time I am going out of the US with my Green Card. Please let me know what are the documents I should take along with me and walk me through the procedure of going out of the US as well as coming back to the US after 6 weeks.

Will there be any problem with my re-entry into the US after a 6-week trip? I am just concerned because this is the first time I am traveling with my Green Card.

I appreciate your guidance and look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks and regards,
    SG

With a green card it is pretty smooth, going out and coming into US
When you go out, there is really no problem. All you need is your green card,
    passport and tickets.
and while coming back, again just the green card, passport. While entering back into the US, the immigration office at the port of entry may just ask you about the purpose of your trip, thatz about it.
There are absolutely no concerns, have a fun vacation without worrying
