I am a permanent US resident (green card holder) but it's the second time I leave the US for 5 months. I keep coming back to my home country Peru to take care of my grandmother. My stays in Peru are no longer than 5 months, at the fifth month I return to the US and stay there for 2 or weeks. I have my family there.
I read somewhere that you can leave multiple times as long as you don't stay for more than 6 months, does this mean that you can come back at day 179, stay 1 day in the US, and leave again? (is just an example), does it work like that or you should stay in the US for some time before leaving again?
