I saw an article of this: stamp passport after getting 485 approval. I always thought I just need to wait for the green card to arrive and that is it. Does this article apply to any specific situation?

Passport stamp after 485 approval?

After you are approved for a green card and in the USA you can make an appointment at a USCIS office to get an I-551 stamp. This is as good as green card for many purposes, though some countries require an unexpired green card in lieu of visa (even a transit visa).
The article references infopass appointments. Those are pretty much dead, but see if your local office does then. Instead you will have to call to get an appointment to get a stamp.Last edited by Mike E; 10-06-2019, 12:44 PM.
