Passport Renewal

My Passport was issued in India & the date of issue was 1.6.98.

The date of expiry is 31.5.2018.

I have heard rumors that the 20 year passports are invalid & that I would have to renew? Is this true?

Is my passport going to be valid as it is right now upto 2018??

They are valid. However, in order to avoid any confusion, it is best to get the passport replaced with 10 years validity.
