Taking a motorcycle to India as part of TR

I am a US citizen with a PIO card. I will avail of transfer of residence to India in a month - moving from san diego to chennai.

I used to have a motorcylce that I disposed off a year back here as it broke down. Can I buy a new or second-hand motorcylce and take it along with me as part of the TR as a foreign national( even though the second vehicle wouldnt have been owned by me for a year etc... ) ?

anyone with such an experience please share details.
