L2 to EAD conversion, currently waiting for AOS, can we study - FT/PT?

Just wanted to check, while we are on EAD
(L2 has expired) and waiting for AOS, can we study, full time or part time? Assuming we will be treated as International students, do we need to request for F1 visa?

You can't apply for F1 visa because you already have the intent to be a resident, AOS pending.

L2 spouses can study without restrictions, so I guess that now you are AOS pending, you can do that too.
