I had to travel at the end of July so I made an INFOPASS appointment and explained my situation to the officer, offering supporting documents.

After leaving the appointment, I didn't think it had helped much. In fact, I had already arranged a second INFOPASS appt for next week, hoping to get an ADIT stamp on my passport in order to be able to leave the country and re-enter (as suggested by an associate on the 800 phone line). I was also looking to get help from my State Representative.

In the meantime, I received a RFE for the I-864 (even though we had sent all of the requested documents when we first filed). After responding to the RFE, everything moved super fast.

I really wasn't expecting to have the EAD / AP card approved so early and I can't speak for how the NBC processes each case. I believe that, in the end, my INFOPASS appointment had something to do with speeding it up -- maybe it turned it into an expedited request.

I'm sorry to hear you have been waiting for so long. I know how it feels and it's horrible. I'm not sure what your PD is but If it's before Oct 30th, you can create a case inquiry for outside of normal processing time request. I really suggest working every option available: INFOPASS, 800 phone number, State Rep and Ombudsman, if applicable. It's an uphill battle against bureaucracy so everything probably helps.

I hope your case gets picked up soon
