  • EAD and Adv parole renewal

My son's EAD expired on Aug 22nd 2019. We filed for renewal on April 23rd, 2019 i.e. 4 months before expiry. How many months is it taking these days?

Some report 8 months, but each case is different.
Did your son receive a 180 day extension?
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

I’m in pretty much the same situation and still waiting. My 1st EAD was processed in about 2 months. My renewal is now taking over 4.5 months.

Submitted my EAD/AP renewal on April 12, 2019... my first EAD/AP was approved in less than 3 months and now for my renewal I haven’t heard anything past the receipt notice for the renewal application. Super bummed since I have intl. travel plans in October and my current combo card expires the week before I leave... waiting for almost 5 months now...

The I-797 receipt for your renewal should serve as your extension.

It only extends the work permit part for 180 days but not the AP part for travel outside the country, unfortunately. I’m more concerned about that part because I can’t go out of the country until I have a renewed combo card in hand, and mine currently expires a week before I’m supposed to leave.

Nope... also been about 6 months and nothing. What sucks is that a couple weeks ago the inquiry date was going to be the time where I could submit an inquiry but they bumped it back... so literally nothing I can do but wait. Looks like I’ll have prepaid for this trip overseas for nothing.
