EAD: I-485 based Renewal pending Work?

I filed EAD renewal based on I-485 Pending. Previously i used to have H1B status but now i no longer on H1B and i am working on EAD. My current EAD is expiring on 13 May, should I get my renewal approved to continue the employment?

Your current EAD is based on your pending I-485 (the EAD has category C09, right?)? If so, since you applied for renewal before the EAD expired, your work authorization is automatically extended until 180 days after the EAD's expiration.
