Paper AP oppose to card

Hi all,

My husband received his AP as a paper certificate with USCIS seal. I want to know if this is all he will receive or should he be getting a man actual card like the EAD card.

We applied for EAD first then months later we applied for AP. EAD was approved in December and we applied for AP in February which was approved in May.
I’m just curious if he’ll be getting a card because most of the posts on here refer to the AP document as a card and we all got in the mail was a paper.

Filed forms: I-130; I-485; I-765
B1/B/2 married to USC
5/21/2019: I-130 and I-484 received
7/12/2019: fingerprint review complete
8/29/2019: received rejected form I-485 due to bounced check
9/11/2019: mailed new I-485 with new check and I-765
10/22/2019: biometrics complete
11/22/2019: ready to schedule interview
12/18/2019: called USCIS and request exp on I-485
12/20/2019: Expedite received and complete
12/26/2019: I-765 approved

Because you sent EAD and AP at different times, receiving a paper AP is correct. You will not receive a card. Only people sending EAD and AP together can get a combo card (EAD and AP in the same EAD card).

Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021
