Hello all,
I'm a software engineer working in a large networking company. I'm on my H1B that will expire Sept 30th 2014 . I now have 17 months in total left (including the time spent outside usa) on H1B. My employer due to labor cert rejections and audits (for the other cases they filed recently) has decided to not file my PERM for the next one year i.e until June'14. I'm in a tough situation..Please advice
1)what kind/size of companies will be willing to hire me at this point?!
2) Should I continue the discussion with my current employer to file for PERM in 6th year and keep this option open too?
3) Is applying for labor cert/perm possible in 6th year?
4) Has anyone tried joining schools, which give you work permit (opt/cpt) etc to fill the gap and avoid leaving usa while your labor is applied and H1B expired?
Please share your thoughts if you were in similar situation and how you handled it.
