Going for higher Studies 6mnths after filling greencard

Hello All,

I am an Indian citizen working in US for last one year. My employer will start green card filing process from Jan End 2014. But i will be starting my Higher studies in US from August 2014 On wards. Please suggest would the green card filling be still ongoing if i go on a F1 Visa.

In short would working for the employer for six months after filling for green card and then going for higher education be beneficial.
