Hello All
I am currently on H1B status and in the midst of filing my employment based green card ( it is in very preliminary stage of gathering documents etc ).
1. I plan to be on maternity leave starting April 2014 for AT LEAST 6 months from then . In a situation like this if my employer does not allow me to be on H1 status, I might have to switch to H4 dependent status. Will that affect my GC filing process too , will it be like it was NEVER filed ?
2. My husband is also in the midst of filing GC ( in preliminary stage of gathering required documents ) and will be including me in his application too. Will that help me in any way if I switch my status to H4 ?
