I had filed my green card application and later moved to India as my company was starting operations in India and my six years for H1 were also getting over.
After working with them for 4 years they stopped the operations in India. I was laid off but my GC application was still getting processed. After one year I received the letter of interview from Mumbai consulate.
As a prerequisite I need an offer letter from my employer who is the petitioner of my GC appplication. I spoke to them and they are not willing to give me the same. The letter is needed as an affidavit to prove that I can support myself and will bot be any burden on US economy.
Is there an alternate which I can use so that my application is not rejected at the time of interview.
I would appreciate if I can persuade my ex-employer to provide me the offer letter which is not binding on them too. They are thinking if they give me an offer letter they will be committing an immigration fraud.
