Prerequisites for EB2 category

I want to know what are the qualifications required for applying for EB2 category....in general..?
I have Masters in Computers Applications ...can I go for it...?

For EB2 category, MS degree + 3 yrs experience or BS degree + 5-yrs.

What you have is secondary to what the job requires.

I have Masters and 3 yrs of experience but out of it one and a half is with the current employer who is sponsoring my Green card ...so would that be counted or only previous experience is counted...?

And also How is it secondary to what is required...?

The job must require an MS. It should have an official description with that specified. Most jobs do not so it does not matter that you have an MS for the green card. The use of the US MS is for the H1B. You need to read the USCIS procedure if you are planning on going through the process.


Sorry, txh1b, for jumping in. I could not contain my frustration at the question back to you. It is obvious to anyone who has read the documentation, but too many posters don't bother to research before asking.
