  • Important Clarification of EB-1 Criteria

The EB-1 classification is for extraordinary talents in sciences, arts, education, or athletics, etc.

Can the ten EB-1 criteria be met for different areas or should they all be in the same area? For example, if I have scientific publications and also have a medal in athletics, do I meet two criteria for EB-1, or should I pick either science or athletics as my "field" and provide evidence to meet the criteria for that field alone?

I cannot find a clear answer to this question in the USCIS regulations.

You cannot mix & match. You have to meet EB1A criteria in one field.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.

Hi all, i am waiting for i485 filing under EB1. I was going through list of docs required.

      1. The place of birth in my passport is different than birth certificate and Mom name is spelled in a short form in birth certificate (passport is not matching birth certificate)
      2. Birth certificate has alias name (ABC alias XYZ), whereas Passport has XYZ name only.

Has anyone gone through similar situation. Will these been an issue? Appreciate any response on this.
      Thanks
