I am currently working in the US on an H-1B and my employer is sponsoring me for a green card at the EB3 level. We are only at the stage of filing the I-140.
Recently, I got engaged and my fiancee is a born American citizen.
I'm pretty sure getting married and getting a family based green card would be faster, but how much faster? And does the family green card process allow me to maintain my H-1B through out the process?
I don't want to rush the marriage if it only means a few months saved. I have a feeling it will be years saved based upon the current EB3 backlog.
