  • I 485 and Biometric fees

We had a concurrent filing of petition i-130 from my husband to me; along with an adjustment of status I485 for me, and I 765 EAD and I 131 for advance parole. Unfortunately, the package was rejected and sent back to us with the reason being “incorrect method of payment for filing fees”. We had included two checks, one for 535$ for I 130 and the other for 1225$ For I485 (including biometric fees). Both certified checks were made to the order of US department of Homeland security. Any idea why we got rejected? Should the biometric fees have a separate check?

Maybe they didn't like that the check is certified. Usually, people send a money order, a regular check or fill a form for credit card payment.

I think they scan the check and convert that to electronic transaction maybe they can't do that with a certified check.
