Filing for marriage based GC while employer based GC is pending.

Hi,

This is really a great forum and helped me a lot in past. Kudos to everyone!

I am currently in states from last 2 years and I have not yet filed for employer based GC. I would be eligible to file for employer based GC in next month.

In next 2-3 years, I am planning to settle here and marry a citizen or permanent resident.

In this scenario, if I apply for Employer based GC now and if my I-140 is approved (Before I marry), can I file for marriage based green card later on and cancel my employer based GC application ? I tried searching for this at several places over internet but did not get any leads. It would be really great if someone can share the links explaining this scenario. Thanks!

Answer: Yes. This is possible. Multiple sponsors can sponsor one beneficiary. If you run both Employment based and family based GC will not impact each other.
