  • Bringing my mother to the USA

    Hello guys,

I have recently become a US Citizen. I want to bring my mother to the United States. She lives in Armenia with my sister and my father is deceased.
I would like to know a list of documents as well as the USCIS form I need to submit to begin the immigration process. She is in Armenia.
What are the first steps I should take to begin the immigration process? What documents or forms?

    Thank you all!

Since she is abroad, she would go through Consular Processing at a US consulate for an immigrant visa. The first step is you file an I-130 petition, either online or by paper. With that you need a $535 payment, a copy of your birth certificate proving the mother-child relationship, and a copy of proof of your US citizenship (certificate of naturalization or US passport). After the I-130 is approved they will contact you guys with the next steps.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
