Hi,
My employer has applied for my GC and I have obtained by I140 approval. My H1 quota of 6 years got finished in 2010. After that I got 3 years extension based on my I140 approval. Now my H1 is expiring in Aug of this year (2013).
I'm currently employed with a permanent position with my current employer. If I change my employer (for another permanent position) at this time and my new employer transfers my H1, however, DOES NOT apply for my GC right away before Aug-2013, then while changing my employer will I get another 3 years of extension on H1 because I already have I140 approval from my current employer or will my new H1 also be only till Aug-2013? Will my new employer have to apply my GC right away and obtain new I140 approval before Aug-2013 to get another 3 years of extension?
