My husband has applied for I 140 and 485 last year i.e., july 2007 based on EB2 national interest waiver. He received EAD in Nov, 2007. Yet to hear about 140. Now he is quitting his job. He is yet to get another job. His lawyer says his status in the country is fine as he has filed 485. How long he can be without a job. Is there a certain time that he should find a job otherwise his 485 can be terminated or he can become illegal? His 140 and 485 was self sponsored. He was working for a university as a post-doc. So, does that mean he can only find a job in university but cannot move to any industry?
