Company changed their name

Hi All,

I would appreciate if you could let me know the following.

My comapny changed their name after I had filed
I-485. Should I do I-140 again under this
situation. And What will happen to my I-485 filing?

From what I know, company name does not matter as long as the Federal Tax ID # does not change. My company changed its name too. You might want to double check with a lawyer though..

Hi All!

Actually I have a question related to the company changing its name.

My company changed its name after I had received the approved I-140 from the INS.
So the approved I-140 has the old company name on it. I still have not applied for
I-485 since my priority date is not current. Do I need to file a new I-140 under the new
company name? How important is it that I get this done? What are the repercussions if
I don't file for a new I-140 under the new company name? Also, would it suffice to include
a letter to INS along with the I-485 filing indicating the company name change?

I would appreciate a response ASAP.
